Are We At Cross Purposes With God When Raising Our Children?

From the moment my children were born they were utterly dependent on me for survival. And it was designed by God that this early dependence would be good for physical, emotional, and spiritual development.

At the same time I knew that God was raising me to be totally dependent on Him, and to raise them to be completely independent from me.

Are we at cross purposes with God as we raise our children? Unless we become aware of God's purposes for our children, we could be!

The truth is that we are to do both at the same time. As we raise our children to be independent from us, we are to raise them to be totally dependent on God.
